Watch Halloween 2 2009 (Rob Zombie) Description
With the advent of “Halloween II” Rob Zombie got converted from scary heavy-metal maven to splash-and-splatter movie maker.
The director of “House of 1,000 Corpses” and “The Devil’s Rejects” is a sequel sellout now and is mainstream as he is moving on to “creature features” (As he announced that he will remake “The Blob” last week).
We expect now that he would have picked up tips on how to create a suspense movie.
He has started thinking himself the new Dario Argento, the Italian guru of gore. Artsy-fartsy-pretentious shades, capital “S” symbolic has been acquired by “Halloween II”.
But, dude, rent some Hitchcock. The viewer don’t get frightened by sudden stabbing or graphic and sound effects, rather it is the chase of the rising terror which frightens the viewer and the victim.
A story with an extended “later that night” sequence followed by carnage of “Halloween” is picked up by “H2”. If you have insurance then the medical system might treat those thus traumatized as Zombie shows us, graphically, what machetes, axes and butcher knives do to a human body.
But was Michael Myers dead? Apparently not, as Laurie (Scout Taylor-Compton) is chased out to “safety” with the security guard of her trauma wards bed across the rainy parking lot.
He said that his name was Buddy and was going to be fine some day.
Of course, it wasn’t. And, of course, Laurie waked up just as Michael was smashing his way in to get her.
Again a year had passed and Halloween approached again. The lost “body” of Michael Myers had been laying low, eating wildlife and dogs. He started fantasizing about the past time when he was a disturbed kid and his dead mom was there to comfort him. It has been till today that she’s still comforting him, with her white horse.
Sheri Moon Zombie, wife of the former leader of White Zombie was made to act by him as Michael’s mom. She’s still waiting for that call from “Inside the Actor’s Studio”.
