Watch Robin Hood 2010 Description
While most everyone knows the story of Robin Hood, the robber with a strong moral compass who steals from the rich and gives to the poor, many might not be familiar with his early life. If you watch Robin Hood free online then you will learn about his early life, before his rise to hero status.
In the beginning Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) was an ordinary soldier with superior fighting skills in King Richard’s army. At that time the English were fighting the French, and as Robin Hood was killing his share of French warriors he was also turning himself into an expert archer. He eventually became his army’s best archer and was a trusted confidant to the King.
After King Richard is killed in battle Robin Hood becomes disenchanted with the cause and leaves the army. He becomes just another thief who steals because he is good at it. Self-centered and egotistical, he thinks only of himself and doesn’t care who gets hurt.
That is until he meets Maid Marion (Cate Blanchett ), a beautiful woman that will eventually change his life. She immediately sees him as someone only out for himself, and as a consequence she wants nothing to do with him. But Robin Hood is determined to win her hand, and to show her that he can change he agrees to help liberate her town of Nottingham from a tyrannical sheriff.
The movie really picks up steam as we see how Robin Hood recruits and trains a group of mercenaries that will eventually become his band of “merry men”. The film makers did an expert job mixing humor and drama during the lead up to the eventual confrontation with the evil Sheriff of Nottingham (Matthew MacFadyen). This of course is what the audience has been waiting for, and this battle does not disappoint. But in my opinion the battles of Robin Hood fighting the French are the best in the film. Actually they were probably some of the best fighting scenes of the whole year.
You are definitely going to want to check out this movie if you are a fan of perfectly shot fight scenes.

Watch Robin Hood 2010 Preview/Trailer
I just came back from the theater and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. This new take has great actors, nice costume, great camera direction and a solid story.
The acting is very good and especially Cate Blanchet shines. Max von Sydow’s English is getting better with every movie and he can finally portray someone without a Swedish accent.
The costume is well done and almost as historically accurate as one can ask from a movie that tells a mostly fictional story.
There are a few issues of course, that makes me lower the score.
Comical relief is avoided mostly, but could have been left out altogether in my opinion. Luckily the people used for comic relief are not the ones you’d expect.
And the final battle which is a big part of the movie annoys me greatly in it’s composition, and you will see why when you watch the movie.
And what in the world *is* that weapon that Little John is wielding? Could they not come up with something more appropriate?

It was interesting to see Russell Crowe star in this movie. We always think of Robin Hood as such a young guy and Russell Crowe is so old.
