Limitless is a thriller with a plot that seems quite plausable. Hot actor Bradley Cooper (The Hangover & A-Team) plays Eddie Morra, a not very successfull writer currently in the grip of writer’s block. Eddie drinks too much and fools around too much, both which repeatedly gets him dumped by girlfriends.
In one of those “only in the movies” coincidences, Eddie runs into the drug dealing brother of one of his ex-girlfreinds. The brother gives Eddie a pill that will allow him to unleash 100% of his brain’s potential power. Apparently most people only use 20% of their brain. Eddie takes the pill and his whole life suddenly changes.
With his supercharged brain Eddie is able to complete tasks in only a fraction of the normal time. He is also able to instantly calculate the odds and probabilities of different gambling activities, which catches the attention of the local mobsters (led by Robert De Niro).
As Eddie finds himself becoming addicted to the drug and endangered by the mob he must come terms with who he is and what he really wants in life.
