This is a crazy movie. Scott Pilgrim (fantastic Michael Cera) is a young twenty something aspiring rocker who meets and immediately falls for beautiful Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Ramona is an Amazon.com delivery girl with baggage, namely 7 angry ex-boyfriends.
Scott repeatedly attempts to win over the beautiful Ramona, and eventually does. But Ramona tells Scott that before she can give her heart to him he must first fight each of her ex-boyfriends. Oh yeah, and each fight is to the death!
What follows is one of the most original storylines in years. This task is constructed like a video game, with each fight representing a level in that game. As Scott fights the first ex boyfriend, he uses all sorts of jumping, twisting, turning kung fu moves to finally defeat the foe. The angry ex, after being defeated immediately dissolves into game tokens that fall onto the floor. Scott must pick up the tokens and use them in the next fight (level).
Just like levels in a video game, each angry ex boyfriend is tougher than the last, until finally Pilgrim comes face to face with the seventh one … by far the most dangerous.
