In that version Robert Englund played Freddie, and it shot him to superstardom. This time Jackie Earle Haley takes over the role, and he’s great. The gore in this film is about
a gazillion times more abundant and realistic than 25 years ago. Some of the slaughtering is down right sickening. And some of the pretty lady victims are gorgeous, especially when
they are scared to death and about to be butchered. Fantastic!
