When members of a special forces black-ops team, all long since retired, start getting killed in civilian life it falls on ex-leader Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) to reassemble the surviving members of his old team to figure out who is killing them.
The cast in this movie are all “A” list actors. Bruce Willis plays Frank Moses, previously the leader of the group who now spends his retirement tending to his garden at his quiet suburban home.
Morgan Freeman plays Joe Matheson, an expert in gathering intelligence who is now fighting terminal cancer.
John Malkovich plays Marvin Boggs, a highly trained agent who has long suffered from neurosis and paranoia. Only now he is much worse.
Brian Cox plays former KGB agent Ivan, and Helen Mirren plays Victoria, a sharp shooting assassin who still accepts freelance work on the side.
Together this group must figure out who is after them and why before they are all killed.

You are going to like this movie alot if you are not too familiar with the story of the greatest race horse that ever lived. Secretariat was the big news back in 1973 as it won each of the races that make up the Triple Crown. This movie does a pretty good job of trying to recreate the atmosphere and excitement at the time. But it does leave out an awful lot of details. For example, if you didn’t know any better you might think from this movie that Secretariat came out of nowhere to win these races. That is not true. From the very begining this horse was generally acknowledged as being the finest of the bunch.
The problem is that Secretariat’s story is not a crowd pleasing rags-to-riches tale such as SeaBiscuit was. So the filmmakers seem to have left out facts or embelleshed some items to make this more of a underdog story. Again, it was not.
But the film does do a pretty good job of introducing us to the people who stayed behind the scenes yet were instrumental in the horse’s success. The horse’s owner Penny Chenery (played by Diane Lane) and retired trainer (played by John Malkovich) are both given plenty of screen time so by the time the races actually take place we know them very well.
The races themselves are among the best ever depicted in the movies. I would say that Secretariat and Seabisuit are neck and neck for the best horse racing movies ever.

The movie Jonah Hex differs from the comic book character that was created back in the early 1970s. For some reason this movie has given Hex supernatural powers that allow him to interact with the dead. This was never a part of the comics. Maybe the filmmakers just needed some plot device to allow them to load the movie up with special effects.
This is really a movie about honor and revenge, with a (mostly) great cast.
Josh Brolin plays Jonah Hex, the ex Civil War hero who was horribly disfigured when an attack on his life only maimed him … but killed his entire family in front of his eyes. Brolin is perfect as the tortured cowboy looking for revenge.
John Malkovich plays Confederate General Turnbull, the person who slaughtered Hex’s family while forcing Jonah to watch. Malkovich does his best evil villain here as his character oozes with violence.
When Turnbull gets his hands on a cache of weapons of mass destruction and shows all indications that he intends to use them against the United States, the government recruits Jonah to stop him.
So goes the story of Jonah Hex tracking the man who ended his life. The actual hunt is suspenseful and bloody. But nothing will prepare you for the final fight.
