Watch Toy Story 3 Description
Toy Story 3 ends one of the best film trilogies ever, certainly the best animated film trilogy of all time.
It’s been 11 years since Toy Story 2 was released, and I can tell you the wait was worth it. That the animation is stunning should be no surprise since the technology has advanced 11 years, and Pixar is still the king of animation (sorry Disney). But the story is just fantastic, and, if you grew up watching the series it will make you very nostalgic.
Andy is grown up now and about to leave for college. At 17 he has long stopped playing with Woody, Buzz and the gang and instead turned his attention to bigger toys and girls. A scene early on shows this as the toys try one last time to divert Andy’s attention back to them. It’s really quite heartbreaking to see the hurt in Woody’s face when the attempt fails and he realizes that things will never again be the same.
The story of this movie shows what happens when the toys are mistakenly donated to a local day-care center. Initially the toys are elated because this means that they will have children playing with them again. But things change when nighttime comes and the toys discover that mean toys take control of the place. The rest of the movie shows their attempt at surviving and then escaping their situation.
But under all the laughs and fun lies an undercurrent of sadness. People who have grown up with this series, and adults long past childhood, may have a hard time keeping their composure during the ending of this movie. They will feel the loss not only of these beloved toys, but of the things they had to leave behind themselves as they grew into adulthood.
Pixar has said that Toy Story 3 ends the series. I say good, not because I don’t want to see more of my animated friends, but because this story arc cannot be improved upon. A series about love and loss and growing up.
